Platini will no doubt make an example of Rose by banning him and fine Serbia.

Kicking a ball into a crowd is wrong and a fine will be justified but the bigger problem is the racist abuse. At least some sort of ban may shut a few of the idiots up.

Punishing an entire nation for a minoritys behaviour isnt a good solution IMO.

the problem is endemic across most of eastern europe , i cant remember the last time england or an english team played a match in that area without some serious issues with racism from the crowds

fines haven't achieved anything so either they let it continue, and if anything its been getting worse rather than better, or they take harsher steps like forcing games to be played behind closed doors or banning the countries

what else do you suggest as a solution if you dont agree with bans ?

Playing behind closed doors, I will never agree on punishing players for fans actions.

Playing behind closed doors is the best idea IMO, There's no point in punishing the players when it's the idiots in the terraces that cause the problems. However some sort of action against the Serbian FA and threats of more serious potential action is needed to give them some extra encouragement to act.

Racism is endemic in Slavic cultures... I Do Love it when someone racially generalises about another country being racist. Can you not see the stupidity of such a statement.

Say What you want about Serbian 's, but remember these people probably watch premiership football and see our country's captain calling people black *modded*, Liverpool fans reducing a non league player to tears with racist abusing, and less than a decade ago a qualifier in middlesbrough ended with England being isance or your kt ruling from uefa after I think it was Macedonia or Turkish players got 90 mind of foul racial abuse from our fans.

But hey... The racial stereotype is that Slavic people are inherently racist.... Okay the irony

i didn't say the problem was in the countries as a whole , if you are going to try and be a righteous smart@ss and have a rant and try to patronise other posters try understanding posts better

the problem is quite clearly endemic with regards to football supporters in those countries, which this current discussion has been about. this has been quite clearly shown on numerous occasions and reports both on tv and in newspapers. and as i said in the post you replied to when was the last time any team played a game away in that region without some sort of racist problems, i suppose all the drama and reports that plagued the euros this summer were just made up as well.

Irony? Who's said all Slavic people are racists? Me and other want the team banned whilst some don't.

Harsh to ban a team because of fans' actions.

It is but English clubs were banned for approx 7 years because of a few idiots. I'm not comparing Heysel to the incident in Serbia but a ban for one tournament may get more done than a poxy fine.
