Racism in English football?

The Premier League have no plans to review the pre-match handshake according to SSN.

That used to be the case cf, but in the days of mass media coverage and 24 hour rolling news channels, everything comes under scrutiny. Since John Terry decided to get friendly with another player's girlfriend the pre-match handshake got more attention than the game. Recently common sense prevailed in the Chelsea-QPR cup game where they decided not to bother with it. Yesterday it went ahead and as a result everyone is talking about what happened there instead of the result in one of the biggest games in the Premier League season.

I sometimes wonder if the PL are loving this as it adds mega bucks to worldwide TV deals.

Fact is, it wouldn't have been a story if Suarez had shook Evra's hand.

Suarez made it a story not the media or 24 hour news channels.

Yes I think the true colours of this planet are revealed when things like this happen. Some of the comments on the BBC sports blogs are truly unbelievable, and I would say that at a guess a good 40% of the folks commenting on there are certainly racist. I must admit I'm not surprised just a little saddened that so few people on this planet have evolved.

Wow finally, there may be light at the end of the tunnel for Liverpool. Talk about slow though by Dalglish. I wonder if he got a call from the owners.

I suspect the owners have intervened to bring this situation.

Liverpool and Dalglish were in danger of becoming a laughing stock with the latter's constant interviews.
