FIFA World Cup group stages

The beautiful game!

They just had Landon Donovan on the panel from LA and he's not happy with the USA line up. Apparently they are playing for a draw from the onset. :facepalm

All I can see is disaster written all over this. Well it doesn't surprise me as Klinsman has openly stated the USA can not win the world cup. I agree, but you don't say that in the USA as they believe the impossible will happen just by showing up to church on Sunday.

US doing a great job after the slip up. Thought Portugal were better than this tbh, but having watched them for the first time since beating England some years ago I have to say the USA can easily pinch this match.

That is a world class finish from Jones of the USA.

Up there with Messis goals, not quite as good as Cahills though IMO.

A real shame that Ghana were drawn in this group. Germany, Ghana and USA have all given it their everything, its a shame we have to lose one of them.

Portugal need a 6 goal swing in the last game. Very unlikely but you never know...

What a blow that was for the USA, lost it in midfield with seconds from the 2nd round, not to mention being able to rest players against Germany.

Got to say though world football is clearly changing. A little more experience there from the USA and they could have killed the game off in added time. :clap

There have certainly been plenty of overachievers a this world cup. Maybe one of the best world cups I can recall seeing so far in my life time. Will it keep the pace up to the finals I wonder????? :dunno
