Liverpool's redevelopment of Anfield Stadium begins on Monday
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-me ... e-29314614Wouldn't it be more cost effective to build a new stadium? £100 Million to extend the capacity by 13,100 works out at £7633.58 per seat. They say Liverpool can't compete against the likes of Man Utd and Arsenal in terms of financial clout, but the new Anfield capacity will still be smaller than Old Trafford by about 17,000. Assuming season tickets are at £700 it's going to take about 11 years for the project to pay for itself.
Also how the council haven't taken residents concerns on board is astounding. From personal experience, getting in and out of nearby Goodison Park for a Premier League game is borderline gridlock, goodness knows what will become with an extra 13,000 spectators.
