Liverpool's redevelopment of Anfield Stadium begins on Monday

Wouldn't it be more cost effective to build a new stadium? £100 Million to extend the capacity by 13,100 works out at £7633.58 per seat. They say Liverpool can't compete against the likes of Man Utd and Arsenal in terms of financial clout, but the new Anfield capacity will still be smaller than Old Trafford by about 17,000. Assuming season tickets are at £700 it's going to take about 11 years for the project to pay for itself.

Also how the council haven't taken residents concerns on board is astounding. From personal experience, getting in and out of nearby Goodison Park for a Premier League game is borderline gridlock, goodness knows what will become with an extra 13,000 spectators.

i'm not an arsenal fan

I just liked the way they used to play and if I was forced to pick a premiership side it would probably be them but think wenger's presence has been holding them back

the comeback is on for arsenal

3-0 down and it was being reported as 4-0 before the 4th was chalked off very late

now its back to 3-2 after 2 goals in 2 minutes for arsenal

I went to the Chelsea game. Son in law got me a ticket for Christmas

belting game. terrific win for Newcastle. they really got after Chelsea and gave them no time to play, apart from a lot of 10 man hanging on at the end. I enjoyed it immensely

I have a sneaking suspicion that that might be 3 consecutive wins over Chelsea. may be wrong
