Didn't realise that. Go back to 1980 and Belgium reached the final. They weren't really a big side back then. Not sure who won in 68 but I remember reading we were knocked out of the semis.

Greece in 2004 hacked their way to the final and got a succession of rather favourable refs...... they were that bad in that tournament, they became known as the only underdogs no one ever wanted to win.
