Welbeck to leave? That is a shock if true.

I'd be fuming if that happens. Especially over Hernandez going. Welbeck offers much more to this United side and this formation. He was decent in pre season.

I agree, and that's why he continually gets picked from England. If you had three Welbecks, then you'd be done for, but he is different to a Rooney, RVP.

Last I heard, which was only yesterday, Guardiola was talking about him being the perfect Bayern signing.

Thought Pep had said he had all the players he needed. Though they do have a few injury concerns.

Guardiola is supposed to be furious that Bayern hired him on the basis that he would be given a very competitive budget to work with, but then they sold Kroos under him after being incredibly tight, and have since made £45-50million this summer in transfer fees without making much available. They signed Lewandowski for free, and then concluded they had done enough by bringing him in.

In questionably they need to strengthen with one player in the midfield, and it seems that in order to pacify supporter unrest and the managers frustration, the target is now Khedira. Beckenbaeur has said in the last two days that Sami would be a good addition, and that the money will be made available.

From a German press perspective, they have complained about Bayern's handling of Kroos, and they openly refer to Martinez as "the failure". The fact that Lahm was played in midfield last year is also seen in Germany as a strong indication even last year they needed one more player in the centre, so Bayern needs to sign

If Bayern as going to make a bid then UNited have no chance. Not that they had much before this though.

I actually think Arsenal will get him, simply because when he went to Real Madrid originally, he had the opportunity to go to Bayern but a certain Dutch manager turned down the move that was facilitated by the board on the grounds that Van Gaal thought Sami was "too slow" for a central midfielder.

After Van Gaal publically insulted him and terminated his move to Bayern, and after a few Bayern legends backed Van Gaal over the move (although Beckenbauer and others publically came out to express disappointment at the clubs and managers handling of the situation), I doubt that Sami would either want to play for Van Gaal, or play for Bayern Munich. Both would provide a barrier to his move imo. At the time, it is on record that Wenger spoke very highly of the player, so the opposite effect might work for Arsenal

Arsenal still need a top quality striker though.

Agree, but Khedira would be an amazing signing. Flamini and Arteta don't have the legs anymore.

Saw that. I know I keep saying this but as good a player as Di Maria is, the priority has to be a couple of centre backs! Any in the pipeline?

Arsenal had the chance to sign Fabregas for 25mil and opted against it, doubt they will go for Kheidera.

Not sure Fabregas would have wanted to be second to Ramsey

khedira and a striker who can actually finish would complete arsenals squad

both sanogo and giroud are good players but miss a lot of chances, and since alexis clearly isnt a striker they could do with someone else
