Sam Harper's 63 run rescue job was not enough to save MelRen as their underpar looking score of 150 was overhauled by MelStars.

Renegades too heavily reliant on Marsh and Finch to put runs on the board, I think, although Harper has done okay. This must be right up there in Finch's worst season list. Even the bowling is weak... this time too reliant on two bowlers. There appears to be no depth in any dept

Finch is in a spot of bother again after that poor form in 2019.

He had a shocking IPL and an even worse BBL

Bottom placed MelRen beat playoff hopefuls MelStars today.

Despite MelStars finishing with a competitive 158-6 off the back of Nick Larkin's unbeaten 61, MelRen chased it down with 2 balls to spare.

Hales going berserk with a 51 ball ton. Thunder are 204-3 and there are still 2 overs to go. Record BBL score is 223, I think. If Hales stays in it's hard not to see a new record set

well, they did get Hales for a magnificent 110 off 56, but it hasn't stopped Ben Cutting taking over where Hales left off. The record has gone as has Cutting

232 is the score.

I think there's a fair chance that the Sixers may not chase this down ;)

In a bizarre incident, Thunder's Weatherald was run out twice off the same ball. First he was caught out backing up when Salt drove straight at the bowler who got a finger on the ball before it hit the stumps. While this was going on Salt charged down the track and so Weatherald set off only to be run out by some athletic work from Billings. Had the replay handed Weatherald a reprieve at one end he would have still been out at the other

Strikers/Thunder reduced to a 14 over affair

no subs...... is there still a Brucie bonus after 10 overs or halfway or something?

Although nobody seems to have told Strikers that this is a 14 over game. 39-3 after 8 overs. If they don't get a wriggle on, Hales will knock their eventual total off in 5 overs

there certainly was, because Thunder picked up the Brucie bonus in the 5th over

I have no idea what Strikers were playing at, but they've completely misjudged the whole thing. They'll be relying on Heat and Stars to muck up their games tomorrow, because Hurricanes losing to Renegades feels like a stretch

A no result in this game would have seen both teams through to the KO's

Thunder are strolling atm

under no pressure at all

Strikers are trying to force things, but nothing works. They brought on Head who got milked, they've brought back Siddle who fires 5 wides, presumably down leg. Desperation stakes

(apologies to Siddle... it was Agar... crapinfo had the wrong bowler)

an absolute disaster for Strikers..... what a shambles

And to make matters worse, now every other team knows that they can pip them to the KO's. They know exactly what they have to do. There is a real likelihood of them starting the last round in 3rd place and ending up in 6th, and it would be entirely self inflicted. I have no idea what they were thinking. Both Carey and Head... seasoned international players, wasted 7 balls each to score 2 runs each... in a shortened match. It beggars belief, really.

seems odd, though, that of the four final round matches, one was played today and the other three are played tomorrow. Clearly the telly can't fit 4 matches into their schedule

Pretty much.

Heat beat Scorchers, so now it's between Stars, Hurricanes and Strikers for the final spot. The Hurricanes have mastery of their destiny as victory will see them through in 4th place, and they only have the Renegades to beat.

Stars v Sixers could be a dead rubber. But to be honest, it's good how deep this season has gone, with only the Sixers out front and Renegades out back having confirmed their qualification or not before the penultimate round of matches.

Wheels falling off for the Hurricanes. Looks like they're not going to make it.

Stars need a bonus point win over the Sixers, or the Strikers will squeak in 5th place.
