This might be interesting stat by the way.
Roy struggles in Day games and guess what world cup/champions trophy played in the day.
http://stats.espncricinfo.com/ci/engine ... ew=innings

From what I seen of Roy not sure he will be ok in England if the ball moving around, he looks perfect if the pitch is flat and a belter but if the ball doing something with either Spin or Seam not sure he will do ok and this stat proves it wouldn't surprise me if the ball doing something in May or early june that suddenly Roy doesn't look that great on paper for the world cup or in the future odi team.
Averages 24 from 12 day games and looking at the strike rate it looks like good bowling conditions in some of them, only one 50 against pakistan 11 of the games in England.

the only opener in world cricket to have done better in the last 12 months than Roy is Warner, Roy has had a better 12 months than de Kock

its bordering on the ridiculous to suggest that Roy's place in the team isn't secure, if not beyond the ridiculous

Never really said Roy close to the drop just said he needs to play in Ireland considering unlike Buttler, Stokes or Woakes he isn't 100% confirmed for a starting spot in the possible England team in the world cup and frankly ECB were never going to allow all 8 england players the full ipl considering they need some star players in the ireland games and looking at it Roy and Billings are perfect for it.
Starting or close to starting for billings in the odi team and they wouldn't really mind missing IPL either considering both will get more playing for England than staying for the IPL.

england players are not just being allowed, but actively encouraged by management to do what he got crucified for

When the KP fiasco was based on wanting to have a rest from a few England games, I am surprised the ECB are allowing England players to play IPL Cricket when they have a hectic period of cricket coming up - ODIs in May, Champions Trophy, 7 back to back test matches, summer internationals finish at the end of September, roughly 4 weeks rest before an Ashes series, almost immediately followed by a tour to New Zealand until April.

What's the betting Ben Stokes is feeling tired midway through this and asks for a rest?

I was absolutely appalled to see Jonny Bairstow's name on the IPL auction, a player who is not even contracted to play white ball cricket for England!

I would definetely pick Jason as sure selection at this point of time.

You need opener who can score 150 plus or 175 plus He has proved it. He is the only English player i think who can score big innings ike Rohit Sharma.

Glen Maxwell has replaced Murali VIjay as captain of Kings 11 Punjab.

So many Aussie captains.

David Warner - Sunrisers Hyderabad
Steven Smith - Pune Super Giants
Glenn Maxwell - Kings 11 Punjab

Murali Vijay captained them for half the tournament. I think Miller captained for other half of matches.

Maxwell flopped in 2015 and 2016 iirc. Miller too did not live upto reputation after that 100.

Imran Tahir has been signed by pune, as replacment for injured Mitch Marsh...stunned that he wasn't picked up in the first place..ranked no1 in world, in odi's and t20's..

Apparently all of it.

If this is FL-related.

In reality I have no idea.

i think he'll be fine

if i was being cynical, something thats not like me at all :halo: , i wonder if they would have risked him for the 4th test if the IPL hadn't been around the corner
