he really is a bit of an emperor's new clothes cricketer imo, capable of moments of brilliance but nowhere near consistent enough to be up there with the "elite" in the game
woakes did really well for himself, having some ability with the bat looks to have helped him alot as teams passed on alot of good bowlers that wouldn't add anything with the bat, or didn't pay much for them

I'm surprised that no one bid for Marlon Samuels, Evin Lewis and Jason Holder. I guess Holder's commitment to play Tests against Pakistan this April/May militated against him, and Samuels has too much disciplinary baggage. Lewis needs to advertise his case more in the CPL this summer....

I am not sutprised. I had guessed he would fetch 8 to 11 crore deal few weeks back which i had mentioned ob this or other thread. So i dont think he is lucky.
Woakes for KKR is good deal as Morne is injured.

when you take a look at his figures he isn't any better than alot of other all-rounders who went for nowhere near as much, thats why i think he is incredibly lucky
i think he has enormous talent but we have only really seen glimpses of it so far and for me he is one of the most over-rated cricketers around atm

do you think someone who averages under 15 with a high score of just 38 and a s/r of 136 with the bat, and has taken just 10 wickets in 21 T20Is at an average of 48 and an economy rate above 9 deserves what he just got ?

Similar to Russell's T20I record and he was the IPL MVP.
Still a ridiculous price though.

Those figures are bad for 14.5 crores.
Were the figures bad for ODI and T20 in recent tour of India.
Its also bit like stock market. Franchisees paying for future returns.
