If West Indies players wanted to make a point, they wouldn't be playing in this.

I think by playing the West Indies players are making a point to the WICB that there are alternatives for them to make a living if the WICB choose to play hardball...as it is, the WICB need the money, and they've granted NOCs.

Not only that, but this tweet by Ramnarine says it all:

"Chris Gayle injured RCB pays med. bills, Pollard injured, MI pay med bills, Sunil in action rehab, KKR pay bills. WICB says be loyal to us"

Gayle's half-century....
:clap
Pollard's all round performance....
:clap :clap

Another massive victory for the Lions, thanks to Gayle, who hit 108 not out from just 55 balls, including 10 boundaries and seven sixes!

Chris Morris takes 2/2 across 4 overs (3 maidens!) vs Cape Cobras!! Lowest economy in a T20 ever.

'Despite pulling out of the West Indies squad for the forthcoming Test series against South Africa, Chris Gayle will turn out for his South African franchise, the Lions, in Sunday's Ram Slam T20 competition playoff and, if they win, next week's final. Gayle sustained a back injury while in South Africa, which will make batting for long periods of time difficult but he should be able to manage the demands of the shortest format. "His back is not holding up very well and I can't see him managing five days. I'm not surprised he has had to pull out of the Tests. Still, he has committed to playing for us in these games," Geoffrey Toyana, the Lions' coach told ESPNcricinfo.'

It does seem odd but the way the WICB are treating their players at present it doesn't surprise me.

Not an issue for me, stand in the field for 20 overs and try and bat for 5-6 overs is nowhere near as stressing as playing a test match.
