They certainly were.

Or, the imports earned their pay last night. Plenty of their team-mates didn't.

Another way to look at it is Adelaide just played too well for a star-studded side.

What is it with Dwayne Smith and flying to Australia? He can fly anywhere else, but he just can't seem to be able to go to Australia for the Christmas? Is his mother's Christmas spread that good? Or is it long-haul flights that he can't handle?

http://jamaica-gleaner.com/gleaner/2014 ... rts91.html

"West Indies opener Dwayne Smith has pulled out of the Big Bash League for the second consecutive season, again citing personal problems. The aggressive Barbadian batsman was Sydney Sixers' big signing for the season, but his absence is a major blow to their batting order. Smith was signed by Perth Scorchers last season, but failed to make his scheduled flight to Australia for personal reasons."

It promises to be a speckie of a run chase by the Stars, after a great finish to the Hurricanes' innings, by Sammy, Glubis and Wells. 108 from the last 8 overs, after being 3/30, finishing with 190.

The batting lineup of the Stars are more than capable, and have something to prove after being rolled so easily the other night. Should be good.

Did better than Hales though, who has brought his England form with him.

comes as no surprise to me. I picked him once for a T20 FL.... waste of space.... I won't be making that mistake again

Thunder close their innings on 208/1.

Hussey 96
Kallis 97*
Morgan 12*

Flintoff didn't add to his two overs. Wonder if he'll do anything with the bat.
