Realistically a think four of the eights slots are now fixed (in capitals):

LANCS vs Glamorgan/Somerset/Kent
Notts/Worcs/Yorks vs HAMPSHIRE
SURREY vs Notts/Worcs/Yorks/Warks
ESSEX vs Notts/Worcs/Yorks/Warks

Essex and Notts play tomorrow, which should go some way to clearing things up even further. Essex will mathematically win the south group (and hence play 4th place in the north group) if they avoid defeat. And a Notts win not only decreases Warks' chances of qualifying, it also puts Yorkshire up against it to secure a home QF, most likely vs Hampshire (even though Yorks' final game is at to Notts).

I think I said at the start of the competition that, on paper, Essex, Hampshire, Notts, Surrey and Yorks looked like the best five sides by some distance for me. At least four of them will make the QFs, maybe all five, and quite possibly the Finals Day line-up could be completely made up of names just from that list.

Northants have an outside chance providing they win big in their remaining two games, whilst Warwickshire fail to win and Yorkshire lose heavily.

Yorkshire just need to better Warwickshire's result to qualify.

Northants have a horrific NRR - of all 18 sides, only Derbyshire have worse. And they'd have to overhaul Yorkshire's second best NRR in the country, behind only Lancs'.

Not a chance in hell will Northants be able to turn that deficit around.
