More active cricketers this week - but only ah handful of big scores. the average score this week was a mere 85 points.

Weekly Update

1. Ravindra Jadeja - 320 - Only played in 2 game weeks of this year but has got over 250 points in each outing. This week was impressive for it's all-round dominance. Moves up 3 places to ninth on the overall List.

2. Moeen Ali - 146 - Moeen has really upped his franchise game of late. Over the last 2 months he played in the International League T20 either side of the England v South Africa games. He was then parachuted into the BPL to help Comilla lift the title.

3. Babar Azam - 117 - PSL 2023 sees Azam play for a different franchise however will be a huge points booster for the Pakistan captain. That being said, despite the third highest score of the week, he still stays 13th overall - 85 points from Curran in 12th.

4. Rashid Khan - 83 - Had one of those weeks where you feel like his points should have been higher. A pair of braces for Rashid was not backed up by any other points - even from economy points, traditionally one of his strong suits.

5. Pat Cummins - 77 - A disappointing start to the IND v AUS series but he was the standout contributor of the three Aussies we have.

Overall Update

Not much to report here really. 4 out of our Top 5 were inactive with Shakib Al Hasan being the only cricketer to feature. His 51 points him 134 points off Buttler in second and 211 away from Conway in 4th.

Shubman Gill 1179
Jos Buttler 1139
Shakib Al Hasan 1005
Devon Conway 794
Hardik Pandya 793

Other Movers

Marco Jansen makes it two weeks in a row where he doesn't perform hugely well but still moves up. This week it is 33 points in the SA20 final that sees him up to 6th.

Top 3 Averages

1. Ravindra Jadeja - 305
2. Shubman Gill
3. Jos Buttler 227.8

Moeen Ali is this week's most improved average as he goes up by 13 and a quarter points to 93 points a week. Usman Khawaja's bubble bursts as he leaks 31 points on his average and is down to 130 a week.

Weekly Update

1. Ravindra Jadeja - 336 - Just keeps getting better and better. Only his third active week but he keeps improving and his average is now a lofty 315.33 points per week. All three og his scores so far this year have been in the top 44% of all scores registered in the last 5 years

2. Harry Brook - 233 - Should feel well hard-done-by for not getting his inaugural Cricketer of the Week accolade...however one feels that it might just be a week's deferral. Surprisingly, still only 13th on the Overall list.

3. Rashid Khan - 195 - For the second successive week, Rashid turns out for two different teams; starting off with Afghanistan before joining up with the Lahore Qalandars. He's registering just 85.25 points a week but has played every week so is on the grind.

4. Babar Azam - 134 - You can always rely on Babar to put on one decent score a week - this time it was the 75* in the loss to Islamabad. Up a place to 12th overall.

=5 Devon Conway - 107 - A decent score in the first dig against England was followed up by just 2 runs in the second. Is not showing the consistency he showed last year but still manages a joint 5th place spot.

=5. Usman Khawaja - 107 - 83 runs split (fairly unevenly) across two innings for Uzzy. Hard to tell if he has proved to his critics that he can play in the sub-continent, but he has two more matches to prove that...or not.

Overall

1. Shubman Gill - 1179 - Gill was so strong in the first few weeks of the year that he can take a month off and still have a 40 point lead at the top of the table. Rumour has it, he might be back next week to continue his reign of terror.

2. Jos Buttler - 1139 - Inactive this week but will have had 2 ODIs under his belt by next week's update. Could be anywhere in the Top 5 by that time.

3. Shakib Al Hasan - 1005 - After his solitary game for Peshawar Zalmi, Shakib had to depart for a family emergency in America. I am unsure what this means for his inclusion in the BAN v ENG series.

4. Ravindra Jadeja - 946 - Jadeja leaps into the Top 5 with a hop skip and a jump. Was 12th before the IND v AUS, jumped to 9th after the First Test and is now in fourth. Jadeja averages 315.33 a week and is 233 from top spot. Makes ya think.

5. Devon Conway - 901 - An OK-ish performance in the first Test against England combined with a tied weekly score with Usman Khawaja and an inactive week from Hardik Pandya sees Conway down just 1 place and just abotu holding on to his Top 5 berth.

Ones To Watch

Two players playing in the Longer form, one domestically, the other internationally, Janen and Khawaja have just 4 points between them in 7th and 8th. He will impressive more this week?

Top 3 Averages

1. Ravindra Jadeja - 315.33 (Up from 305)
2. Shubman Gill - 235.8
3. Jos Buttler 227.8

Devon Conway is down 8.63 this week and is the biggest loser - however still manages 150.17 points a week. Harry Brook's bumper score boosts him to 124 - 36.33 points of improvement.

Over half the players on the List changed position this week. Let's see who's ascending and whose....not.

Weekly Update

1. Harry Brook - 306 - Scoring 186 will usually see you well for Cricketer of the Week...who knows where he might have landed if it were not for Root's brain fade. He becomes the 59th player to win the Cricketer of the Week.

2. Rashid Khan - 219 - 3 decent games for Rashid in PSL 08 sees him back in the top 5 again. He eats these T20 competitions up but has 5 wickets across his 3 games this week so is well worth his berth.

3. Moeen Ali - 216 - In a complete reversal to last year, Moeen is raking in the points in ODI matches and is struggling a bit in T20s. His allround prowess against Bangladesh sees him right in the middle of a very tightly packed Top 5.

4. Jos Buttler - 215 - Disappointed in the first Bangladesh but was back to his explosive best in the second to return to action with another Top 5 appearance.

5. Marco Jansen - 179 - Returns to his beloved Test cricket with a dominating performance with the ball against West Indies. He just nicked in to the Top 5 at the expense of Sam Curran, 3 points behind him.

Overall

1. Jos Buttler - 1354 - Buttler takes top spot after a month of being bridesmaid. Has an ODI and a T20 next week to extend his 119 point lead at the top.

2. Shubman Gill - 1235 - Was inactive for three weeks and then loses first place on the week where he returns to action. Down a place to second after 6 weeks in the top spot.

3. Shakib Al Hasan - 1171 - Breaks his spell of playing just T20s to have a go at a bit of ODI cricket. Is quietly grafting his way into a good position - there is just 64 points between him and second place now and plenty more white ball cricket on the horizon.

4. Ravindra Jadeja - 1117 - By his recent standards, 4 wickets in the IND vs AUS Test represents a bit of a lull - it is the first time he has played in 2023 and not finished in the Top 3 for the week. He manages to keep hold of his 4th place spot gained last week.

5. Devon Conway - 982 - Perennially doing just enough to hold on to 5th place through posting OKish scores and those below him not mounting a consistent challenge. Marco Jansen is 50 points below him with another Test against the West Indies to play, however.

Top 3 Averages

1. Ravindra Jadeja - 279.25 (Down from 315.33)
2. Jos Buttler - 225.67 (Down from 227.8)
3. Shubman Gill - 205.83 (Down from 235.8)

For the second week in a row Harry Brook moves up a place - he has doubled his average over the last fortnight and is now on 160.4. Jadeja's slightly less than God-like performance sees him dip by 36.08 points but still sees him with over 50 more points per week than anyone else.

Some huge individual scores this week – however only 6 active cricketers means that we only have a Top 3 this week.

Weekly Update

1. Babar Azam - 388- Three outstanding performances for Peshawarsees Babar claim his first Cricketer of the Week of 2023. He now has 12 overall putting him fourth on the All Time Tally - Maxwell is next in his sights with 13. Up from 14th to 8th on the Overall List.

2. Shakib Al Hasan - 319 - An absolute stonker of a performance in the last ODI against England saw Shakib bag 245 points from that game alone. 319 points would have seen you win in all but 66 weeks of the last 5 years.

3. Rashid Khan - 287 - In an unstoppable spell of devastating wicket taking in PSL 8. 9 wickets in three games is not an insignificant achievement even for Rashid.

Overall Top 5

1. Jos Buttler - 1537 - A score of 183 this week sees Buttler extend his reign at the top to a fortnight, however the margin has been significantly cut thanks to a huge insurgency from below.

2. Shakib Al Hasan - 1490 - Not only has Shakib moved into second place, he also has the second largest cushion of anyone in our List. There is 255 points between him and third.

3. Shubman Gill - Inactive this week and down a further place. After 6 weeks in top spot he drops two places in a fortnight.

4. Rashid Khan - 1188 - Up 3 places to grace the Top 5 for the first time in 2023. Only 47 points between him and third, he could be on the up and up sooner than you'd think.

5. Ravindra Jadeja - Inactive this week and down a place. Is in action against Australia again so will seek to earn back that fourth place berth.

Top 3 Averages

1. Ravindra Jadeja - 279.25
2. Jos Buttler – 219.57 (Down from 225.67)
3. Shubman Gill - 205.83

Babar Azam’s stellar week sees his average improve by almost 50 points. He now has 154.33. Moeen Ali’s rather more sanguine week sees his average drop by almost 10. He stands at 104.43
