So very much Test Cricket this week

So very many points

So much movement.

But who?

Weekly Update

1. Babar Azam - 272 - Bat for that long and score that big you are going to do rather well on The List. This is his eight Cricketer of the Week award; the joint fourth of all time alongside Virat Kohli and Rashid Khan.

2. Rishabh Pant - 229 - Filling out the Strike Rate column rather nicely this week to gain yet another Top 5 finish. The Indian has been prolific this year.

3. Jonny Bairstow - 185 - Another century for Jonny sees him back in the Top 5 for the week. Has featured in three weeks of action this week and has finished in the Top 5 each time. Moves up two places to joint 11th

4. Pat Cummins - 174 - Not prolific in terms of wickets this year, but his economy is keeping him buoyed up. Retains 9th on the Overall List

5. Joe Root - 172 - A second successive Weekly Top 5 finish for Joe. Working his way back into 2021 form. Moves up a place to joint 11th overall.

Weekly Top 5

1. Mohammad Rizwan - 1194 - There is not many times you score three figures and finish 8th for the week; however Rizwan keeps his lead at teht op - currently standing at 61.

2. Rishabh Pant - 1133 - The second player to cross the 1000 point barrier and there is now a little gap opened up between him and third. Last had second spot for a solitary week in Week 2.

3. Moeen Ali - 944 - A month's worth of inactivity has caught up with Moeen as he drops a place. Could be back in action next week for Worcestershire.

4. Quinton De Kock - 920 - Three weeks in 5th spot, three weeks in 3rd spot, Quinton now drops down to 4th. Can he hold that for three weeks?

5. Babar Azam - 911 - The 2020 Cricketer of the Year and the 2021 Bronze medallist moves into the Top 5 for the first time this year, surprisingly off the back of Test form - the weakest string to his bow.

Other Movers

So many big scorers this week means a lot of movement lower than the top 5.

Jamieson's 152 moves him up a spot to 6th, whilst Stokes' 169 sees him into 14th.

The most surprising mover is Hasan Ali who only got 100 but is up 2 to 15th.

Ones to Watch

It doesn't get any closer than team mates Joe Root and Jonny Bairstow who are both locked on 515 points with a Test in play.

Top 3 Averages

1. Simon Harmer = 217.5 (Down from 280.67)
2. Moeen Ali = 188.8
3. Jonny Bairstow - 171.67 (Up from 165)

Such was Harmer's comically large average, a drop of 63.17 points still sees him nearly 30 points on average higher than second placed Moeen. Babar Azam's masterclass improves his average by 23.64 points to 130.14.

Minor point, but I think Babar got a wicket in the test as well.

High scoring week all round, Babar and Rizwan clearly have to up their game for me to win the gameweek!

Weekly Top 5

1. Pat Cummins - 291 - A very decent start to the new Australian captain's career sees him end the International Sub-Continental Summer as Cricketer of the Week for the first time.

2. Joe Root - 282 - Another stonking performance from Joe Root as he continues his ascent up the overall table. He moves up to 10th this week.

3. Ben Stokes - 279 - His 120 against the West Indies will live long in the memory - even if the match won't. Back in the weekly Top 5 for the first time since January. Has moved up two places on the overall list to 11th.

4. Babar Azam - 167 - Not as good as last week - but enough to give him another Top 5 finish. A spell away from the game looms for Azam now.

5. Quinton De Kock - 134 - Back playing ODI before his sojourn in the IPL sees him warm up with a fifth placed finish.

Overall Top 5

1. Mohammad Rizwan - 1225 - A fairly meagre 230 points across Pak Vs Aus ... however he keeps his top spot for a 5th successive week.

2. Rishabh Pant - 1133 - Inactive for the last time before the IPL starts. In the big-hitting form we saw in Ind v SL, the Delhi Capitals could be in for some show.

3. Babar Azam - 1128 - Holds down his third place spot thanks to a decent final Test in Pak Vs Aus. A spell away from cricket looms....how far will he drop?

4. Pat Cummins - 1070 - After being decent but unspectacular in the first two Tests, Cummins sprung into life in the final outing. He leaped up 5 places to get back into the Top 5.

5. Quinton De Kock - 1054 - Quinny bloody loves fifth place. After spending most of November and December last year in 5th, he has spent 5 of the last 10 weeks there.

Other Movers

Steve Smith continues to flirt with an assault on the top ten before dropping away again. Non-inclusion in the IPL will not help.

Ones to Watch

Could be a right little ding-dong at the bottom of the Top 5 as KKR's Pat Cummins only has a 16 point lead on Lucknow's Quinton De Kock. A bat vs ball battle.

Top 3 Averages

1. Simon Harmer = 217.5
2. Moeen Ali = 188.8
3. Joe Root =159.4 (Up from 128.75)

Mixed blessings for our English contingent as Root improves his average by 30.65 whilst Bairstow dips by 23.17. Root takes Bairstow's top place spot away. YJB drops to 8th!!

Weekly Top 5

1. Travis Head - 340 - Celebrates his return to the ODI game with his first Cricketer of the Week since the third week of 2020. Moves up 3 places to 13th overall. This is the highest weekly score of 2022 so far.

2. Babar Azam - 251 - Three back-to-back top 5 performances for Babar. Looking in very good nick in 2022.

3. Marnus Labuschagne - 154 - After never falling out of the Top 3 in 2021, Marnus has struggled a little more this year. Up one place to 12th overall this week though.

4. Bhanuka Rajapaksa - 144 - A complete and utter bolt from the blue. Having not featured over the last 3 months, Rajapaksa is rapidly making a name for himself as a HUGE hitter in IPL 2022. Friday's nine ball 31 was a genuinely obscene performance.

5. Quinton De Kock - 108 - Nips into the Top 5 yet again thanks to his second game for Lucknow where he got 101 points.

Overall Top 5

1. Babar Azam - 1379 - After 5 weeks of a Rizwan led List, his international captain has taken the crown. The last time Azam held top spot was when he finished as the Best Cricketer of the Year in 2020.

2. Mohammad Rizwan - 1298 - An underwhelming PAK vs AUS ODI series sees Rizwan lose top spot.

3. Quinton De Kock - 1162 - IPL 2022 was always going to do big things for QDK. After just two games he is already up two spots to 3rd.

4. Rishabh Pant - 1134 - A solitary point from his debut IPL 2022 game sees Pant fall two places to fourth.

5. Pat Cummins - 1070 - An inactive week as he waits for his Kolkata debut. Down two places to 5th.

Ones to Watch

Two battles to watch out for this week. Moeen Ali and Kyle Jamieson have just 8 points between them as they plot an assault on the Top 5. At the other end of the Top 10, Harmer's Test re-debut is pitted against Glenn Maxwell's return to the IPL as they sit with a mere 7 points between them.

Top 3 Averages

1. Simon Harmer = 217.5
2. Moeen Ali = 168.17 (Down from 188.8)
3. Babar Azam = 153.22 (Up from 141)

That huge change in form for Travis Head sees his average points per week surge up by 40.1 points to 99.43. Bairstow continues his tumble down the standings; down 23.3 to 125.2.

I'm starting from a low base, but I've been lower and ended up in contention before.

I'm looking for a great score from Harmer next week, if the first two days of this test match are anything to go by

Weekly Top 5

1. Simon Harmer - 319 - This is Harmer's 29th Cricketer of the Week award...but the first where he is scoring points for his international team. Feel this one might be a bit special.

2. Babar Azam - 251 - The second week in a row that Azam has scored 251 and the second week in a row he has finished runner up.

3. KL Rahul - 162 - Has come back from injury with a bang. Currently averaging 60.5 per IPL game so could be in for a big haul. Is up one place to 16th on the overall list.

4. Quinton De Kock - 161 - Is the highest point scorer of IPL 2022 so far with 269. He has spent 4 of the last 5 weeks in the weekly Top 5.

5. Pat Cummins - 156 - Scored more points in one sparkling IPL 2022 performance than Rajapaksa and Pant have done in 3 performances. A completely out of the blue performance from the Australia captain.

Overall Top 5

1. Babar Azam - 1630 - Azam's gap of 269 is the largest gap between any player on the List. Hard to see when he will be playing anytime soon though.

2. Mohammad Rizwan - 1361 - Just about holds off second spot from a growing IPL insurgency below him. Might be his last week in silver position.

3. Quinton De Kock - 1323 - The IPL's leading point scorer holds third position for the second week. Will be looking to push on next week.

4. Rishabh Pant - 1266 - Hasn't quite hit the big time in IPL 2022 yet but retains fourth spot.

5. Pat Cummins - 1226 - Was inactive when he dropped to 5th but retains it with that stonking debut for Kolkata

Ones to Watch

With the top ranked Pakistani duo out of action for a while, the IPL trio of De Kock, Pant and Cummins in 3rd, 4th and 5th could make their move over the coming week. They are 38, 57 and 132 points off second spot respectively.

Top 3 Averages

1. Simon Harmer = 237.8 (Up from 217.5)
2. Babar Azam = 163 (Up from 153.22)
3. Pat Cummins = 153.25 (Up from 152.86)

Harmer was already the highest in terms of average points per week but has added a further 20.3 points to that obscene total. Moeen's 0 week sees his average tank by 24.03 - down to 144.14.
