But as the old saying goes, you can't win without Harmer.

it's been won before without Harmer so you're still in with a chance. I don't doubt that Red will come out fighting, though

Weekly

1. Simon Harmer - 390 - Not quite the dizzying heights of his 15-wicket week against Hampshire, but 13 wickets will do very nicely. With 6 Cricketers of the Week this year he now has double his nearest rival - Moeen Ali with 3.

2. Marnus Labuschagne - 206 - Seems a while since he scored big, especially on the international stage - but a century in the Test series against Sri Lanka will be well received despite the overall loss.

3. Steve Smith - 175 - That long wait for a century is over and he is in the Top Five for the second time in a month - however these types of performances are few and far between for Smith these days.

4. Moeen Ali - 166 - Is more here due to weight of matches rather than any hugely stand out performances; however, 47 and a wicket in the most recent ODI is pretty good going.

5. Rishabh Pant - 147 - Pant has incredible tenacity when it comes to just grinding away. A few massive performances are peppered amongst week after week of comfortably above average scores.... like this one.

Overall

1. Simon Harmer - 3871 - Has now scored 1191 points in the last 3 weeks alone and has opened up a lead on second place of 1259. That is not an unsurmountable gap.... but nor is it particularly mountable.

2. Mohammad Rizwan - 2612 - A modest score against a Sri Lanka Cricket XI to kick off the series - but he manages to just about hold onto second spot before the series starts in earnest tomorrow.

3. Rishabh Pant - 2596 - Manages a second consecutive week at third. He *still* has not spent any more than three weeks in anyone position so expect a move next week.

4. Marnus Labuschagne - 2427 - That century against Sri Lanka sees Marnus back up a spot to fourth. He has spent the last month yo-yoing up and down the lower echelons of the Top 5; starting the month in 4th, jumping up a spot, then down to 5th before coming back to fourth today.

5. Moeen Ali - 2359 - Back in the Top 5 after 4 months away. His hard work and relentless grind is finally paying off.

Other Movers

Ben Stokes' 41 won't light the world up but saw him jump over Quinton De Kock who was named but did not feature in a South African team that played against the England Lions.

Ones To Watch

It will be interesting to see if Mr Metronome himself, Rishabh Pant, gets the better of Rizwan this week. Pant has one more ODI against England whilst Rizwan has a whole Test Match to protect his 24 point lead.

Top Three Averages

1. Simon Harmer = 215.06 (Up from 204.77)
2. Babar Azam = 153.54 (Down from 157.33)
3. Joe Root = 152.07 (Down from 162.14)

Weirdly, for the third week out of 4. Our number one highest averaged player is the most improved - moving up 10.29 - whilst the third highest player is the one that has depreciated the most - down 10.07.

Yes, I'm going to blame the government for not being eighth. It should have been a question on C4 tonight.
