Bit of an earlier one today because the Essex game finished early and the two ODIs will finish after the cut off for the week.... also, it is my first day of the Summer Holidays.

Weekly Top 5

1. Simon Harmer - 268 - It is the height of Summer and therefore Harmer season. he has now been Cricketer of the Month for 3 of the last 4 weeks. Unstoppable.

2. Babar Azam - 244 - Pakistan were staring down the barrel of a first innings deficit when Azam pulled off a Joe Root style rescue mission to claim second place.

3. Rishabh Pant - 195 - It has been a great month for Rishabh Pant, topped off by his maiden ODI century in the final match against England. Is truly becoming a very useful all format player.

4. Hasan Ali - 142 - Has failed to live up to his promise this year but will always do a job in a longer form game. This big score is largely down to his meagre economy but every point counts. Moves up a place to 16th.

5. Joe Root - 136 - Has not lived up to his billing in the ODI series with India but saved his best to last with a half century in the final losing effort.

Overall Top 5

1. Simon Harmer - 4139 - Keeps on scoring, keeps on extending his lead. He was the first to breach the 3000 point mark and has now reached the 4000 mark before anyone else joined him on 3k.

2. Rishabh Pant - 2791 - Back up to 2nd, his highest score for 3 months. Has to set his sight on putting some distance on the pack as he enters the WIvIND series.

3. Mohammad Rizwan - 2612 - In action this week but didn't make enough to stem the charge of those below him, down to 3rd.

4. Moeen Ali - 2456 - Is starting to feel the pressure after some lukewarm performances in the international shirt - however still makes progress up our List and moves into fourth.

5. Marnus Labuschagne - 2427 - Inactive this week and drops down a place before the next sl v aus Test.

Other Movers

Jonny Bairstow is the most significant mover outside the weekly top 5 as he continues his charge up the table. He was 17th 3 weeks ago and now sits in 7th.

Matt Critchley also moves up a place to 13th.

Ones to Watch

The smallest gap is between 5th and 6th who are both in action this week. Can Joe Root score more in 2 ODIs than Labuschagne can in a Test?

Top Three Averages

1. Simon Harmer = 217.84 (Up from 215.06)
2. Babar Azam = 160 (Up from 153.54)
3. Joe Root = 151.06 (Down from 152.07)

Ben Stokes was the biggest loser as he marked his final ODI with a bit of a whimper. He leaks 6.64 points off his average and drops out the Top 3. Babar Azam improves his average by 6.46 thanks to the miracle at Galle.

Weekly Top 5

1. Jonny Bairstow - 258 - On two occasions in the last 4 weeks, Bairstow scored more points than this week and finished second but he has got his just reward this time out. It is his first time at the top of the weekly pile since 2019!

2. Moeen Ali = 246 - Another weight of games scenario, puts Moeen up near the top - however you can't begrudge him that rapid half-century earlier in the week.

3. Mohammad Rizwan - 141 - Over half his points this week come from his glovework but they all count. Has a fortnight off now.

4. Babar Azam - 137 - Didn't pull off the requisite rescue mission in the final SL vs PAK Test but still gives himself a Top 5 spot for the week after a good second innings half century.

5. Quinton De Kock - 132 - Disappointing with the bat but phenomenal behind the wicket this week. 68% of his points this week came from fielding points - he won't be moaning, however, as he moves up two places and back into the Top Ten overall.

Overall Top 5

1. Simon Harmer - 4235 - Improves his lead on first again.... however with the County Championship on hold for a month things might slow down for him. That being said, 1363 points is a HUGE gulf. It is more than Bhanuka Rajapaksa and Kane Williamson have scored all year combined

2. Mohammad Rizwan - 2872 - Can't stop putting pressure on those around him. Back up into second place for the 5th week in 6. His time may be running out though.

3. Rishabh Pant - 2825 - An insipid first T20 against the West Indies sees Pant down a place - but with another 4 games to play it won't take him long to move on up.

4. Moeen Ali - 2702 - Holds 4th place and opens a bit of a gulf between himself and the chasing pack. There is currently 243 points between himself and 5th place as he turns his attention to The Hundred.

5. Jonny Bairstow - 2459 - Pokes his head into the Top 5 for the first time this year. Will have a couple of games in The Hundred to keep the pressure up now as those below him - Marnus Labuschagne, Joe Root and Babar Azam - are inactive for a bit.

Other Mover

With the 5th worst average points per week in The List, Hasan Ali is not really setting the world alight, however he has moved up a place despite a meagre score of 82 this week. This is largely because he was the only player from the bottom 8 to play this week.

Top Three Averages

1. Simon Harmer = 211.75 (Down from 217.84)
2. Babar Azam = 158.47 (Dwon from 160)
3. Ben Stokes = 145

In a week where the owners of the four highest averages saw their scores dip, Joe Root is the biggest loser. His score of 1 knocks his average by 8.82 points and sees him drop out of the Top 3. Moeen's average improves the most - up 5.87 to 128.67

Top Players By Format

Long Form - Simon Harmer = 3520
One Day - Travis Head = 680
Short Form - Moeen Ali = 2306

Highest Points by Discipline

* = New Name

Runs - *Jonny Bairstow = 1609
Batting Bonus - Babar Azam = 360
Strike Rate - * Moeen Ali = 530

Wickets - Simon Harmer = 2000
Wicket Bonus - Simon Harmer = 360
Economy - Simon Harmer = 870

Fielding - Rishabh Pant = 600
Fielding Bonus - Rishabh Pant = 100

It is worth noting that, after Babar Azam has dominated the runs scored for months and months, Bairstow has popped his head into first place by the barest of margins. As it stands, Bairstow has 1609 runs, Azam has 1607 and Rizwan has 1602.

Despite the fact that it is the height of British Summer Time, only 5 out of our 21 players turned out last week so we won't have so much of a countdown and more of an overview of those Top 5.

By some distance, Rishabh Pant was the highest scoring cricketer this week; his total of 157 is over 4 times more than anyone else. That being said, only Kyle Jamieson's score of 106 in the first week of the year saw a lower weekly high scorer (if you see what I mean)

Then comes three players separated by a solitary point. Jonny Bairstow's final T20 against South Africa saw him gain 37 points whilst Glenn Maxwell's first game in The Hundred saw him on 38. Both of those are fairly under par T20 points totals from a single game...

...which underlines just how poorly Quinton De Kock has done who got 37 points from two T20 games where he scored just 7 runs and got his other 30 points with the gloves. Just 7 weeks ago De Kock was in 2nd place overall, his poor form has seen him slump to 9th.

Bringing up the rear is Moeen Ali who scored a mere 23 points in the final Eng v SA T20. When he doesn't score with the bat it often sees him post a disappointing tota

Overall Top 5

1. Simon Harmer - 4235 - His first inactive week of the Summer sees his lead cut for the first time in 6 weeks. Just the 1253 point cushion for him now.

2. Risabh Pant - 2982 - The last month has seen Rishabh Pant yo-yo in and out of the Top 2, he starts August in silver position and has another 2 T20s against the West Indies over the weekend.

3. Mohammad Rizwan - 2872 - Inactive and pays the price. Moves back down to 3rd place.

4. Moeen Ali - 2725 - A decent score in the final T20 could have seen him challenge for 3rd place, but 23 does not cut the mustard and he remains in fourth for the 3rd week on the trot.

5. Jonny Bairstow - 2459 - His final points before a surprise break sees Bairstow hold 5th place.

Top Three Averages

1. Simon Harmer = 211.75
2. Babar Azam = 158.47
3. Ben Stokes = 145

In a week where only Rishabh Pant improved his average (up to 119.28 per active week), Maxwell's average got hit the hardest; he is down 5.09 to 124.5 a week.

Yet another low scoring week in what is starting to become a bit of a stagnant period of the year. 16 of our 21 players have stayed in the same position on the overall list for 3 weeks or more.

Just a Top 3 again.

Weekly

1. Moeen Ali - 102 - Whilst not in prolific form, Moeen Ali is posting decent numbers for Birmingham in The Hundred. This is the lowest top score for the week in 2022 and the third lowest ever, however.

2. Joe Root - 94 - Keeping his eye in before Eng v SA with a couple of innings in The Hundred. Was not called on for the game against the Northern Superchargers but got a decent score against Birmingham.

3. Rishabh Pant - 74 - Mr Consistent did the business again in the last T20 in the WI v Ind series. Always coming up with the goods - helps that he has played in 26 of the 32 weeks we have had in the year.

Overall

1. Simon Harmer - 4235 - Has been inactive for two weeks and has only had his lead on second place reduced by 184 runs in that time. Could be involved in the Eng v SA Test but should have a big enough lead to stay in top spot without it.

2. Rishabh Pant - 3056 - Opens up a nice little gap on third place thanks to a decent innings against the West Indies.

3. Mohammad Rizwan - 2872 - Inactive for a second week and manages to just about hold on to third place. Should be in action this week against the Netherlands - a good opportunity to become upwardly mobile once more.

4. Moeen Ali - 2827 - A few decent outings in The Hundred plus some inactivity from those that were below him last week sees Moeen open up the second biggest gap on the list between himself and fifth place.

5. Joe Root - 2512 - Some carefree performances in The Hundred sees Joe edge into the Top 5 before the more serious matter of the Eng v SA Test series

Top Three Averages

1. Simon Harmer = 211.75
2. Babar Azam = 158.47
3. Ben Stokes = 145

Lots of small dips in averages but Glenn Maxwell is the biggest small dip for the second week in a row. He is now at 120.63 points a week. Kane Williamson imporves his average by 1.78 points but still has the lowest average of anyone - 47.42
