It seems the ashes is not the only game in town in December and January. Rumour has it that those pesky Aussies have come up with something called the Kentucky league for large bashers. I have no idea what a large basher (bashist?) is, but it appears to be a spin off from American baseball........ chancers!
Clearly they are trying to muscle in on the territory first pioneered by those lovely Hundred franchises... you know.... the ones with all the bar snacks
Although the ECB intended to try all legal actions at their disposal to get this monstrous parody of the beautiful Hundred stopped in its tracks... they got a bit sidetracked in Yorkshire and forgot..... so those sneaky Aussie types flew in under the radar and we have a competition
Be warned... there are an extra 20 balls.... nobody knows why, but there are, and so as much beauty sleep as possible will be needed to prevent everyone nodding off after being made to concentrate for too long, too late at night..... No-one seems to have thought about the kiddies and their circadian rhythms, for crying out loud, being stuck in a cricket ground for an unreasonable length of time just to differentiate it from that wonderful and unsullied Hundred.... it's all about the filthy lucre and if the well being of a few kids has to be sacrificed in its pursuit, then they must all be seen as fair game
Look deep into your hearts and decide if in all conscience you can bring yourself to support such a nefarious, ill conceived and opportunistic venture
if you can.... way hay.... we have a game
