It's probably time to start thinking about this, because it won't be long until it starts up again.

With the format being different this year from the usual two division structure, and after a short consultation period with Arthur and Red, I've decided that for this year there will be only one fantasy league for the competition


Rules

Pick 11 players, no substitutes are permitted, and there are no restrictions on who you can pick
You can pick your players from all of the 18 county squads

Scoring

Batting

1 point per run
+10 for a half century
+20 for a century (+10 for any additional half century)
If a batsman is not out after 50 = +10, after 100 = +15, after 150 = +20 etc

Bowling

20 points per wicket
2 points per maiden over
+10 for 5 wickets in the match
+20 for 5 wickets in an innings
+30 for 10 wickets in the match
+50 for 10 wickets in an innings
+30 for a hat trick

Fielding

10 points per catch or stumping
20 points per run out, or 10 points each if two players share the responsibility
10 bonus points for 3 contributions with catches, stumpings or run outs

Should we just assume everyone will pick Harmer and make it 10 other picks?

a quarter of last year's entrants didn't pick Harmer and the year before that a third of entrants didn't.

Of course, those that didn't also finished bottom of the table both years

Tricky one though. You have to pick people who will perform well, but not so well they will be called up for England duty.

much harder to decide with only one competition. I want to pick 14 or 15 players and it's a beggar trying to decide who to keep and who to ditch
