With regards to how the game engine works, I really have no idea!

Australia have thrashed Zim and Ban, beaten SA at home by the odd game in 5 and then beaten Pak with Bradman scoring 4 centuries and a double!
West Indies have also had convincing wins over both minnows, plus a 4-1 victory over SL. It would have been interesting to see how the latest match against SA would have turned out with a different team selection.
Pak have won (maybe) unexpectedly away in NZ, but have lost at home to Eng.
NZ winning one out of three of their home series played would seem about right, as would SL taking 3 heavy defeats but with a landslide victory over Zim.

End and SA both winning in Ind could be seen as bit of an anomaly - although the Eng attack selected in their match that had previously played in Ind, each had terrific records there:

Not against that batting line up though!

I think Australia should be the strongest because they are the only side with two distinct ATG sides. I'm not sure any other side can claim that. England have 150 years of history to select from. India have only really been a top ranked side for about 50 years. Maybe it would have been more equal if we'd only selected from the last 50 years? But then, it's interesting that these sides reflects historical strenths.

My view is that Australia should win this with WI runners up. I suspect 150 years of great players to choose from makes England better bets over India for third and post apartheid SA. Even without Lohmann, who surely would have been statistical dynamite.

Fantastic response by the Blackcaps, all replacement players have chipped in with significant contributions.

Got a right selection headache on which spinner to drop for the tour of South Africa
