It's the most wonderful time of the year.
Whilst others are decking the halls with boughs of holly; we are picking names for our year long folly.
This time next week we will be conducting the most hotly anticipated draw since Michelangelo (aka Mickey Paintbrush) got a bit carried away with a doodle on the roof of the Sistine Chapel....but first comes the admin.
So:
Step 1
If you are a pre-existing player, you may only keep one of your 2019 players whilst the other needs to be reintroduced into the draft. Please can you declare which player you wish to retain and which you wish to release in the thread below.
If you did not play last year, please can you declare your interest to play in 2020.
Step 2 - 'Here comes the Science.'
Before 12 noon on the 27th of December, you must private message me your shortlist of the five players, in order of preference, that you would most like to represent you over the next year. This will go forward into the silent auction that will take place on the 27th. I will conduct a random draw of Forum Members on the 27th and then use your lists to select your duo for the forthcoming year. You can change your list as many times up until 12 noon on that Friday and can select any player in the world as long as they are not retained by a current player. They will be allocated points for all forms of cricket they play in 2020. Like last year I will be sending my list of five to the Independent Adjudicator - DFM.
Batting
1 point for every run scored
A batsman scoring 50 will receive a 20pt bonus, with another 10pts for every further 50 runs scored
(ie. 50 = 20pts, 100 = 30pts, 150 = 40pts, 200+= 50pts)
A batsman scoring at least 20 runs, will receive.....
10 bonus pts for scoring at a strike rate of 80-99
20 bonus pts for scoring at a strike rate of 100-149
30 bonus pts for scoring at a strike rate of 150-199
40 bonus pts for scoring at a strike rate of 200+
Bowling
20pts per wicket
20 bonus pts for a 3fer
30 bonus pts for a 5fer
A bowler who has bowled at least 3 overs will receive.....
10 bonus pts for an economy rate of <=6.0
20 bonus pts for an economy rate of <=5.0
30 bonus pts for an economy rate of <=4.0
(ie. an ER of 4.25 scores 20pts)
Fielding
10 points per catch or stumping
20 points per run out, or 10 points each, if two players share the responsibility
10 bonus points for 3 contributions with catches, stumpings or run outs.
Clear......as mud.
Please do ask if there are any queries.
Happy picking.
Simon
