Rules

You select twelve golfers playing in The Open starting 18th July. Your choice of players will be restricted by the following criteria. From the Official World Rankings website http://www.owgr.com/ranking

Of your team of 12, at least 3 of your players must be ranked outside the Top 50. Of the allowed 9 players ranked inside the Top 50, no more than 6 can be from the Top 20, with a maximum of 3 from the Top 5.


Scoring System

You will score points for your best 5 performers over the course of the tournament. Your best 5 players' final shot totals will be added together, with the team having the lowest total number of shots being declared the winner.

For the sake of clarity: players who do not finish the tournament (either by missing the cut or pulling out of the tournament) will be adjudged to have taken 400 shots for the 4 rounds.

If any of your players takes no part in the tournament, he will be replaced by the best ranked player available.

Think I'm down to a bare five tomorrow...

looking at the leaderboard today, I have 6 of the top 10, which is nice. I also have a -3 as a 7th player back up, so I'm hopeful for tomorrow

out of curiosity, Ian.... your game, your rules, of course.... but why top 5, rather than final total of all 12, with those not making the cut being awarded an arbitrary plus score?

Still DFM, although those chasing have a chance today - depending on how certain golfers perform against the leader's sextet:

I've often wondered

Maybe we'll run next year's along the same lines as the Tennis FLs - scores based upon the best 10 players from a 12-man squad?

Those missing the cut could have their 36 hole totals doubled to give a four round score, with those retiring having started the tournament (a rarity) being given the 400 points.
