Works out as each team plays one group stage match every 5 days. It's probably about right as teams rack up a lot of miles between games and the majority of journeys will be done before matchday.

Two derby matches for example - Central Districts Stags (at New Plymouth) v Wellington Firebirds involves a 5 hour drive minimum, each way. Same with Otago Volts (at Dunedin) v Canterbury Knights. New Zealand Cricket must spend a sizeable amount on their budget in travel and accommodation.
