Doesn't get into the England all time H team (one for really bad sleepers). But I'll look forward to hearing the case for him in seven weeks time.

This 'B' team needs a tinker!

This has turned chaotic. Don't know how to reel it in.

I think the A team is done, if you're happy with it (as chairman of selectors). Then we can go back to B until Sunday and we're back on schedule.

A team is mostly an Asian XI. This one only has Bedi.

Funny how the four seamer, one spinner model is fully in charge now. 3+2 always used to be the ideal. I suppose AB could bowl some spin. Benaud is the alternative, but I'm not sure he'd get in as a bowler alone.

Pre WWI bowlers will come to mind (as they did in A) for their usually phenomenal stats, but there is usually too little certainty about them. Under B there's Johnny Briggs. Still, we've got Sydney Barnes. At least they were England sides by the time of SFB though, not commercial squads playing matches retrospectively called Tests.

On paper, it looks like a stronger team that the A's.

Trevor Bailey would be looking at Botham's spot, so he won't get in.

Might be worth reconsidering Eddie Barlow for Boon. Had similar batting records, though Boony played longer. Barlow could bowl. Boon could field at short leg and drink a lot of beer.

D/L would be arguing for Bresnan's inclusion here. Colin Bland for 12th man.

Probably not.

D/L would be having Tim and Bairstow.
