i found a wisden article that discussed the best keepers throughout test history and he was supposedly very highly thought of by his peers

edit : altho it did only cover up to the 1970s

Just checked Chetan Chauhan, the old opening partner of Gavaskar. He played 40 Tests, never scored a ton and averaged 31. I think he's up there with Brearley for most runs without a ton.

Dinesh Chandimal is an alternative keeper.

from what i can see there are only 3 bowlers with names beginning with C that have taken 200+ test wickets, we already have chandrasekar and cairns, caddick is the other one
