having crossed Moeen off my team, he has just scored his first runs in pigging ages...68 of them, so I just know that he's going to take 3 or 4 wickets tomorrow as well

I would say that whoever selected Moeen has used selectors hat well. He played in BPL and was succesful in that tournament iirc. Also he was used to those wickets and cinditions more than anyone else in this England team.

Mehedi must have got me to a position of semi respectability, although quite a few had Stokes and I didn't have him so that probably offsets it a bit

Without resource to neither a fag packet nor a pencil, if I had selected these five:
Stokes
Mehedi
Moeen
Tamin
Shakib
then I'd have been closer to the winner (RD Jnr?) than my actual score...

Not me either. I think I did close the gap on hope to perhaps 40 or 50 points, after the first test, but Cook outplayed Sabbir in the second, I think, to see off my challenge. Not sure if anyone else has been coming up on the rails.

When I lost Batty my first reserve Cook came in and had his best game of the series including 5 catches, that was really fortunate.
