but could we not leave the budget at £1.5m so that more of the 30 players are actually chosen rather than down to luck in the allocations?
The budget was set deliberately at that amount. Having played a similarly based football game for a few years, I realised that one of the keys to how the game works well is setting the level correctly.
OK - will take your word for it, but I do seem to recall one of the key lessons from the first year was that too many of the choices ended up being down to the luck of the allocation. I'm not sure how the calibration has been done or what the objective was so I'm probably not best placed to comment.
