Essentially, a list of players with a set value will be released before the first round of the draft. You have a squad of 30 bodies to fill, and a set amount of money to do it.
First round - bid on any player in county cricket as long as their original value is at least paid. For top players, expect to add money on to secure them, as people will go over the top to secure the best talent. No player is signed in the first round because....
Second Round - Any player can then go over the top of the original bid, but they do have to realise that the person who won the player in the first round with the highest bid can, in the third round, win the player uncontested by beating the value set in the second round.
If a player is not bidded on in the first round, and is subjected to a bid in a subsequent round, you win them outright that round. So its only the top players that are going to be subject to counter bids.
Tips - GET BOWLERS..... no batting line up outscored mine last year, but balance of the squad is paramount.
Get back up players.....
Don't bid on Thommo..... Durham and Powelly will spend half their budget to secure him
Thaks that makes it a lot clearer except who is Thommo....?
Presumably I need 15 div2 players and 15 div1 players in my 30 players.

I do think we need a simpler tie breaker
