A quick check and we have only had T20 comps for women up until now

Proposal

Women's 50 over Scoring

Batting

1 point for every run scored
20 bonus points for scoring 50-99 runs
30 bonus points for scoring 100+ runs
A batter scoring at least 20 runs, will receive.....
10 bonus pts for scoring at a strike rate of 70-79
20 bonus pts for scoring at a strike rate of 80-99
30 bonus pts for scoring at a strike rate of 100-119
40 bonus pts for scoring at a strike rate of 120+

Bowling
20pts per wicket
20 bonus pts for a 3fer
30 bonus pts for a 5fer
5 bonus pts per maiden over
A bowler who has bowled at least 3 overs will receive.....
10 bonus pts for an economy rate of <=5.0
20 bonus pts for an economy rate of <=4.0

Fielding
10 points per catch or stumping
20 points per run out, or 10 points each, if two players share the responsibility
10 bonus points for 3 contributions with catches, stumpings or run outs.

I think that cricket landmarks are still important though, so if matches are more low scoring than in the men's game, then I'd be more inclined to increase the bonus points for them. perhaps 30 for 50 and 40 for 100 (compared to 20 and 30 for the men)?

or perhaps go for the T20 option of 10 for 25, 20 for 50, 30 for 75 and 40 for 100, if the bonus point jump from a 50 to a 100 seems too miserly?

I agree with rich's opinion of the SR of 70 (I'm not that keen on the SR of 80 for the men, if I'm honest)

keeping it at 50 and 100 and giving more bonus points i think is fairer, its still recognising the milestones, again i dont think getting extra points for just reaching 25 is justified

I confess to be a little unsure about the 30pt/40pt split for 50/100 runs, but can't see a way around it... 50 pts for 100 runs seems extraordinarily excessive

I guess we let Rich try it and see how it works out. There may be so few centuries scored that it doesn't really affect anything... and if there are a lot scored we can always revert back to the men's 20/30pt for 50/100
