Is it possible to play two keepers, with one playing as a pure batsman?

Anyway, thanks for all your hard work, Ian. :salute

I have Nial OBrien (Northamptonshire). Think he played many games in LVCC last year and also batted at 3 once or twice . Hope he will play 4 day matches this time as well :scared

I only ask as some of the players listed are only going to be playing T20.

I must admit that I "borrowed" the valuations from another site, which is probably running their competition over the 3 formats, rather than just the 4-day matches in this league.

I have had a look through the lists I posted, as well as the county squads qouted on Cricinfo:

http://www.espncricinfo.com/county-cricket-2013/content/squad?object=585678

although this differs from their ins-and-outs list:

http://www.espncricinfo.com/county-cricket-2013/content/story/581772.html

a confusing picture :dunno

These players look to be correct on my list:

Smith, GC Surrey
Sarwan, RR Leicestershire
Ponting, RT Surrey
Petersen, AN Somerset
Rogers, CJL Middlesex
Chanderpaul, S Derbyshire
Nash, BP Kent
North, MJ Glamorgan
Magoffin, SJ Sussex
Katich, SM Lancashire
Bailey, GJ Hampshire
Quiney, RJ Essex
Burns, JA Leicestershire
Rehman, Abdur Somerset
Williamson, KS Gloucestershire
Cowan, EJM Nottinghamshire

These players are listed but do not appear to be playing:

Morkel, JA Somerset
Prince, AG Lancashire
Philander, VD Somerset
Khawaja, UT Derbyshire
McKenzie, ND Hampshire
Henriques, MC Glamorgan
Marsh, SE Glamorgan

Voges, AC Nottinghamshire is listed but is scheduled to be playing T20 only.

When it comes to running the player lottery I will not allocate any of these players:

Morkel, JA Somerset
Prince, AG Lancashire
Philander, VD Somerset
Khawaja, UT Derbyshire
McKenzie, ND Hampshire
Henriques, MC Glamorgan
Marsh, SE Glamorgan
Voges, AC Nottinghamshire

This should help to explain where I got the players and valuations from.

I thought Ashwell Prince was playing Championship cricket this year - as a kolpak? Or at least I hope he is, as I've just included him in my D2 fantasy team!!!

Hmm, good question. If you can, then that would work well for me. Ideally I don't want to select Wessels as my WK, because he doesn't actually keep WK for Notts. But I'd back him to heavily outscore Wallace, and hence I'm currently having to include Wessels as my WK.

Red Devil wrote:Ian - a couple of things I don't understand

1. Why are Rogers and Ponting pick number 23 when there are 5 players above them in the pick list who are worth 70k as opposed to their 80k? Also, Trott is pick number 30 but there are lots of players worth 70k above him when he is at 80k? Then we have pick 55 being worth less than picks 56 throught to 61?

2. I seem to have picks 23,24,25 and 26. Given that each pick changes your average cash per player left, it seems unlikely that you would have 4 picks in a row?

Sorry, I have duplicated a couple of the numbers in the list. This was pretty much a paperwork error. I think all of the players were allocated in the correct order, the only one that might be incorrect is Trott who could have been pick 32 instead of 37, but would still have gone to the Osaka Metrics. When it came to allocating different types of player role, I filled those with the highest percentage of gaps first.

Rogers and Ponting were below 5 of the £80K players because the South East Spitfires had already got 7 batsmen for picks 20-24.

A lot depended on how many players you bought in the auction. The more players at lower prices you had in you team meant that you had more top picks in the lottery. Makhayas Misfits had the first 9 picks. Then the next 16 were split between Red Devils and South East Spitfires.

Ashwell Prince is playing, he agreed a Kolpak contract after this post. It made no difference to this competition though as he was bought in the auction by Eagles XI.

Maybe you could allocate an extra 2 players per team Ian ?? Squads seem slightly small ( especially for those with central contracted players )

And swap Blackwell and H.Singh as they 100% won't be playing any games

You are doing a good job though :thumb seems difficult.

I am going to allocate an additional 4 players, one of each type, to each of the teams - thus increasing squad sizes to 24. The draw will be be randomly allocated.

Prior to this I am going to swap Blackwell for Yardy (top ranked unallocated AR) and Harbajhan for LJ Fletcher (randomly picked from the £40K bowlers.) Details to follow.
