Or some such team. Isn't it the same as dnp.
Work expands to fill the time available, so why do today what can be put off until tomorrow.

No.

I always think that if a player earns his points, then he deserves his points.

There does seem to have been a lot of toing and froing this season. Keeps me on my toes quite a lot.

The only thing that really worries me is if a player plays more than the allotted number of team matches as a result of moving to a team that is playing one week, from a team that isn't, and then back again, although I imagine that that is very unlikely.

In a different division now though. So not so much a Div2 FL.

Not that it matters.

I agree about the points from a fairness angle as he was also playing in higher division rather than a lower one. It's unlikely he could play in excess of 16 games as he's already missed a fair few this year.

I personally think, next year we should scrap div 1 and div 2, and just have 11 players from across the divisions, would also stop posters having 9/10 of the same players as we've seen in recent years

That will give me a great chance of picking injury prone players. Not a bad idea but with 5 reserve players as well. If a county has a injured player they can bring someone in, surely a FL team should be able to do the same.

Personally I'm against the reserves idea. More fun just having 11 only.

When you have 2/3 players out injured you can forget your chances in the competition and lose interest. We get 2 reserves in short international series but in the long CC nothing. It's not logical.

I disagree. I think it's to be expected that some players will pick up injuries, whilst others will get international call ups. It's a 'long haul' FL, so you can lose a player to injury for a bit and still recover. If, for example Pakistan was to suddenly call up Ajmal tomorrow, then he'd still have netted 1335 points for whoever had picked him, which would be a decent return for someone who'd stayed fit and played in all 16 matches for his county.

If Graeme Smith had notched up 1335 points before he went home I'd be a happy man. :D

I am thinking about an MVP FL for next year

11 players from across all 18 counties and across the 3 competitions

Would that interest people?

of course Mr Smith has a history of leaving early with injuries. He did the self same thing last year. For me, the only surprise was he lasted as long as he did.

I posted my div 1 team, and then found out 20 mins after the first toss that Chris Nash was going to be out for several weeks. 20 mins

bugger.

I did find out about David Willey and changed him for Stephen Crook. The only reason that I went for Crooky was the indifferent form of James Middlebrook last year.... he did okay, but about half his points came from the last 2 matches of the season, so I figured he might struggle in Div 1 and decided to play it safe. Middlebrook would have netted me 1000 points by now, whereas Crook has only managed 305

bugger.

It's these little departures from my tried and tested selection policies which have kept me out of contention this year

This habit of players going on loan to other counties is growing apace and could affect more players in the future. Most not being high profile players maybe means they will rarely be in an FL team.
