Another rammed week of cricket.....just 5 players not to feature this week.

Weekly List

1. Devon Conway - 367 - Conway becomes the first player to win Cricketer of the Week more than once in 2023, spreading his score across three games in 2 formats this week. His 138 against India did a lot of heavy lifting in this regard.

2. Jos Buttler - 342 - A couple of comparatively quiet weeks before a Daddy score this time out. Strung together some good performances in the SA20 before an alright showing in the loss against South Africa.

3. Ravindra Jadeja - 290 - This was his first game for 6 months and he hit the ground jogging. A seven-fer for Saurashtra vs Tamil Nadu in the Ranji Trophy puts him straight into the thick of it before a return to the India set-up.

4. Hardik Pandya - 290 - An all-round strong week for the all-rounder. He scored 100+ points with both bat and ball and added 20 in the field too. Weeks like this will force his agenda.

5. Shubman Gill - 229 - Bit of a Jekyll & Hyde performance from Gill this week. Continues to be the best ODI player of the year so far.....but is looking to be on the verge of a busted flush in T20s. This averages out to see him end up just tipping into a very high scoring Top 5.

Overall

1. Shubman Gill - 972 - A second straight week in the top spot and manages to keep a sizeable gap on second place. Needs to fix up his T20 form to hold off the peleton.

2. Devon Conway - 782 - Has now occupied all the places inside the top 3; a fortnight in 1st, down to 3rd last week and now into second place. Could form a challenge this week during the ongoing T20 series.

3. Jos Buttler - 571 - A big week for Buttler sees him move from 9th to 3rd place. That gap between third and second was just too big for him to breech in one leap...but the South Africa One Dayers will give him a chance to look up rather than down.

4. Hardik Pandya - 548 - After a strong start (2nd in Week 1), Pandya slipped down to 7th last week. An all rounders performance sees him back into the Top 4 again - but there is only 112th between 8th and 3rd so there is an awful lot to play for.

5. Shakib Al Hasan - 544 - Shakib couldn't get it going this week. After scoring 349 points in 2 BPL games last week he has scored only 161 in 3 this time out. 19 points separate him and Usman Khawaja in 6th.

Other Movers

Sam Curran finished 7th in the Weekly List but his 191 sees him move up 2 spots to 10th whilst Rashid Khan and David Warner move up a spot to 9th and 13th respectively.

Ones to Watch

The smallest gap is the 4 points that stand between all-rounders Hardik Pandya and Shakib Al Hasan. Both are in T20 action this week and a few decent spells could see them move into the Top 3.

Top 3 Averages

1. Shubman Gill - 243 (Down from 247.67)
2. Shakib Al Hasan - 235 (Down from 272)
3. Devon Conway - 195.5 (Up from 138.33)

The SA20 proves the breeding ground for our two biggest movers this week. Buttler sees his average improve by a massive 75.83 points up to 190.33 whilst Marco Jansen is now down 42 points to 153 after his electric start to the tournament.

Decided to go early this week as I do not think the SA20 this evening will reach a finish....if I'm wrong there will be extra points for Harmer and Jansen next week.

Weekly List

1. Jos Buttler - 365 - Two big ODI scores in a row for the White Bal Captain. This is his first Cricketer of the Week award since 2018! You would think he will not have to wait 5 years for his next.

2. Hardik Pandya - 245 - The last time Hardik made it onto the list it was more for bat than ball, this time out it is the other way round. Probably the truest all-rounder on our List this year.

3. Shubman Gill - 207 - Gill has shown phenomenal form across 2 formats now this year. However his maiden T20 hundred only sees him third in the List for the week.

4. Moeen Ali - 182 - A slow start to the year for Moeen but he did what he does best as an ODI big hitter. Needs to get back to his T20 scoring best to move up the overall List.

5. Shakib Al Hasan - 151 = The BPL will always ensure that Shakib finishes in the Top 5. One decent score with the bat and one decent haul with the ball and he edges into the Top 5.

Overall List

1. Shubman Gill - 1179 - The first player to cross the 1000 point mark, three weeks at the top of the table and the largest lead on the person below them of anyone in the List....been a hell of a return for the young man.

2. Jos Buttler - 936 - Buttler has scored 300+ points in successive weeks and in different formats. This versality will see him well over the coming 11 months.

3. Shakib Al Hasan - 856 - Up 2 places this week to return to 3rd spot again. The BPL followed by the England internationals will be a make or break period for Shakib who will not feature as much as he used to in the IPL this year.

4. Devon Conway - 794 - Conway can't quite string good performances week after week. He is up and down the Top 5 like a yo-yo on an elevator.

5. Hardik Pandya - 793 - Hardik has occupied every position from 2nd to 7th in the first 6 weeks...comes to rest just inside the Top 5 as we move into February. Has a decent gap of 149 on Usman Khawaja in 6th place.

Other Movers

Harry Brook debuted with 0 points at the bottom of the table, this week he got 126 in 2 ODIs and moves up to 16th whilst Sam Curran's 99 in the same matches saw him overtake Rashid Khan into 9th.

Top 3 Averages

1. Shubman Gill - 235.8 (Down from 243)
2. Jos Buttler 234 (Up from 190.33)
3. Shakib Al Hasan - 214 (Down from 235)

Jos Buttler's average jumps the most for the second week in a row whilst Devon Conway's dips the most for two weeks out of the last 3.

Re: 2023 All Year Fantasy Competition

Postby The Professor » Fri Feb 10, 2023 6:10 pm

Despite all the cricket that is happening right now, we have only had enough completed games for a Top Three this week.

This Week

1. Jos Buttler - 203 - Buttler had to wait 5 years between his last Cricketer of the Week and last week's crown...he had to wait 7 days for his second of the year. He has as many in the 6 weeks of 2023 as he did in the whole of 2018. In sublime touch.

2. Rashid Khan - 148 - At this point I am uncertain if Rashid Khan actually has a home or whether he lives from hotel to hotel. Started the week in Cape Town and has finished it in the Emirates. 3 games in two continents and 148 points to claim for it all.

3. Harry Brook - 137 - A very 'Baz-Ball-Esque' style warm-up as he got 97 at better than a run a ball to boost himself up to 14th place in the overall table - now for the real Tests.

Overall

1. Shubman Gill - 1179 - First inactive week for Gill and he manages to just about keep top spot will get some Test points this week from Ind vs Aus so might continue his run at the top which already stands at a month.

2. Jos Buttler - 1139 - His second successive Cricketer of the Week wasn't quite enough to see him ease into the top spot - and with his Paarl team out of the SA20 he now faces 20 days out of the game.

3. Shakib Al Hasan - 954 - An underwhelming couple of games in the seemingly unending BPL 2023 should count himself lucky that nobody immediately below him was active this week.

4. Devon Conway - 794 - His first of two inactive weeks before the NZ v ENG Tests. He manages to hold on to his fourth place berth.

5. Hardik Pandya - 793 - Manages to hold 5th place despite being inactive. That 149 point cushion is proving very handy.

Other Movers

Only 46 points for Maro Jansen this week but manages (somehow) to overtake Suryakumar Yadav into 7th place.

Top 3 Averages

1. Shubman Gill - 235.8
2. Jos Buttler 227.8 (Down from 234)
3. Shakib Al Hasan - 190.8 (Down from 214)

Early days for the averages but genuinely impressive that Shakib can leak 23.2 points and still be in the top 3. Brook goes in the other direction and adds 24.67 to his average - remember he did score 0 in his debut week which will always help the improvement of that average.
